Hugo Lynch

Player #10

Hugo’s (or Hogi’s) incredible work ethic and determination make him an integral part to Zen’s defensive unit. He isn’t afraid to literally throw his body on the line for a layout/run through d or catch and you can always count on him to have your back since he’s probably the fastest person on the field. Hugo is a fantastic teammate and inspiration to many of the people he plays with and against.

What teammates say about Hugo:
Mild mannered librarian Hugo Lynch by day, destructive Superman of ultimate frisbee by night (and also day sometimes)! Hugo is not powered by something so benign as yellow sunlight, but rather mayonaise. Lots and lots of mayonaise. French fries without mayo are his only kryptonite.

He has become Zen’s not so secret weapon to demolish any defense and cap it off with a perfectly placed continuation throw for the score. Hugo is the entire package, a genuine and compassionate person with unbridled talent that makes men want to be him, and women…also want to be him.

“I don’t subscribe to binary gender labels and I also want to be Hugo.”

“He is our Lynch pin! … do you guys get it? My pun? Lynch … his name!!”

Zen – 2016 Hugo is our resident layout machine. For most of us, getting a layout D or catch would be on our highlight reel until the end of time. For Hugo? It’s just part of waking up.
