Sabrina Wu

Player #12

Sabrina has had to expand her role this year, but she’s done so with enthusiasm.  Jumping back and forth between cutting and handling, she’s shown a willingness to take direction and step out of her comfort zone to make some sweet catches and good finds.  Sab will listen, focus, and execute – she’ll try something new, learn from it, and adjust to the next step.  With this attitude I know she’ll be able to handle whatever gets thrown at her.

Number: 12

Is there significance behind your number?
It’s supposed to be 11 because my birthday is on the 11th but I accidentally put in 12, and now I’m stuck with it forever.

Position:
Handler/Cutter on D mainly.

What do you bring to the team?
I’m new to the touring team so I have a strong desire to improve and become a better ultimate player. I think I have good handler D and am decently fast. I like to strike deep when I get the chance because of my confidence in my speed.

Previous Experience:
Just Waterloo for one year.

Current Team(s):
Just Wednesday TUC league team.

Nickname(s):
Sab

Do you have a go-to pre/post game meal?
Nah but McDonald’s after a tournament always sounds yummy hehehe.

Do you have a pre/post game ritual or any other superstitions?
Not really I try to listen to my own music to pump myself up.

Least Favourite/ Favourite Fitness:
Favourite is probably the endurance ones and least favourite is probably those damned suicides…

What is your favourite TUC League/ Team to play on? Why?
Zen! Everybody is so cool and chills.

If there is anything else you would like the world to know?
I really want to sky someone at least once during a game heh…

What teammate do you admire and why?
Probably Bru. Just because when I first started with the team I didn’t know anyone and he always tried to talk to me to make me feel welcomed to the team. Also even though he’s not in my pod he always gives me encouraging comments during games and tries to help me be accountable to what I want to improve on.

Is there any specific moment/ drill/ game that you consider a highlight of the season so far?
I really loved the game against Union. Just the hype throughout the game really lifted my spirits as an individual too and I wish we could be like that for all games!! Every point we flooded the fields and were super happy.
