If I really had to pick one, it would have to be this one game against Big Fish. We were down by a few points at half and Loat giving us a great pep talk. The team came together in the 2nd half in the most amazing way – making great passes, crazy D’s, and every point – seriously, EVERY point – was a huge cheer. We ended up beating Big Fish and we all just started piling on each other. It was an amazing game!
Play as hard off the field as you do on. Playing amazing Ultimate is a given – you’re surrounded by great players, being coached by skilled leadership, and as long as you have a willingness to learn, you will excel. I always tell new touring players a little stat my brother told me when I first started – that 1 year of touring is equivalent to about 5 years of league play in terms of skills development.
But the friends you make and the people you meet off the field – those are the people you’ll be seeing again and again for years to come. People you’ll be drinking with, partying with, and of course – playing Ultimate with. When everyone starts calling you by your nickname, you know it’s going to be a good season.
